I'm back

I have become the biggest blog slacker of all time! Sorry everyone! We have been so crazy busy these last few weeks, as I'm sure you all have with the holidays coming.
I have some great news....I PASSED MATH! I'm sure most of you know that this has been a struggle for me, and has taken me like F-O-R-E-V-E-R to do, but I finally have my Associate's! Yeah! Matt is still plugging along with his program, and we are looking to Christmas next week. I promise to not neglect my blog for as long this time. I hope you all have a great holiday, and thanks for all your cute Christmas cards!

Start of the holidays

This Friday, instead of heading out into the crazy shopping madness, we went down to the Christmas Tree Express.
Ogden, and Weber school districts put on this event every year, at the Ogden Eccles Conference Center. There are hundreds of Christmas trees that are donated by businesses in the area, and then sold at an auction, with all of the proceeds donated to the schools. They also have a big craft fair, with lots of cute Christmas things. It's nice to know that your money going to a good cause.
I can't wait for Christmas!!

bookworm

I'm so glad that Madelyn is getting into reading already. I love books, and think it's so important for children to get interested in them while their young. I thought this was such a cute, candid picture of Maddie reading to Matt.

here kitty kitty...

This is Maddie and her cat. We don't know where it lives, but it always comes to a our window, and begs for food. Maddie LOVES it! We plop her down in front of him, and she laughs, squeals, and hits the window trying to touch it. I have to say it's one of the cutest things to watch, even though I think cats are gross!

HI

Hey everyone,
So I haven't really done much that's worth blogging about lately, but wanted to check in. Maddie is now sitting up all by herself, and has her first tooth! Matt is still plugging away with school, and doing great. We are getting so excited for the holidays, especially Christmas, and I can't wait for Maddie to have her first one. Hope all of you are doing good. I shall blog again soon, with more exciting things to report.

Partay Time

We held our annual Halloween party this weekend. It was so much fun to see everyone all dressed up in their costumes! Maddie was dressed up as a giraffe, I was Superman, and Matt was a hunter. Thanks to everyone that came, we have the best friends! Although, we missed Hollie and Brit, who are far away from home. Happy Halloween to all!

fall colors

We went to look at the leaves up at Snowbasin last week. Even though we were about a week too late for the best colors, it was so nice to be outside. Fall is the best time of year (next to summer!)

Six Month Old Check-up

Maddie is now 21lbs. 12oz, and 29 in. long! Talk about a big girl! I'm loving her more, and more everyday. All the new things she does, just amazes me! She loves her Baby Einstein saucer, and so do I because it keeps her entertained for a long time. Also, she loves splashing in the tub (which is almost too small) with her rubby ducks. We love her so much!

kisses

I just love this picture! Maddie started this last week, where she will bite your chin, and just sit there. It's a good thing she doesn't have teeth yet! What a goofball!

Home Sweet Home

As most of you know, we have moved BACK into our house, which we just moved out of a month ago. Our lives has been so crazy this last little while, but I think we are finally settled. We just wanted to give a shout-out to everyone who helped us with the two moves: Eric (who helped both times, what a guy!), Trav (who found time between his flights), Roger (who gave up precious hours of boating), Chad (with his Bronco, which pulled the trailer, both times!) and of course the grandparents who helped out with Maddie. We love you all, and couldn't have done it without your help!

Attitude

I got this quote from a girl at work. I think it's very true, and makes you think:

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company ...a church ...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past ...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ...we are in charge of our attitudes.
-Charles Swindoll

chubby cheerleader

I love Maddie in this little ND cheerleading outfit. As you can see, the bottoms are a little snug, but I had to snap some pictures of her booty! We literally have to peel this outfit off of her when the game is over, but it's worth it! I believe she's the cutest cheerleader on the squad (and yes, I did make her bow).

Fall Ball

Fall is definitely football time in our household. My side of the family are huge Notre Dame fans, and then Matt is of course for Denver. Both teams haven't lost a game yet! I think Maddie is good luck. We have a Notre Dame cheerleading outfit that she wears for the games, that's so dang cute (pics will be coming soon)! She is getting used to the "football spirit", which includes: screaming, swearing, cheering, and flying objects. I figure it's best to get her used to it while she's young! GO FOOTBALL!

He does it again

Last week, Matt and his buddy Chris went fishing on the Green river. I personally hate this river, because it's just about the ugliest place on the planet! There hardly any trees, it's always windy, and it takes 2 hours to get there. However, the fish you pull out are really nice! These are a couple of the ones he caught. It's nice to see my fishing lessons have paid off. Way to go babe!

Monkey see, monkey do

The other night my mom put Madelyn on my dad's shoulders, and she just started digging in his hair like a monkey would! Then, she started banging on his head, and pulling his hair, thinking it was pretty funny. Thanks for being such a good sport Grandpa.

Umm... sHe's a giRL

So,Maddie is a little behind in the hair-growing department. She is getting some fuzz on top, and has the darling mullet in the back, which is an auburn color. It never fails, when we go out somewhere, and I don't put her bow on her, someone calls her a boy.

Today, she was even wearing a peach Onesie, and a lady said, "What a good-looking little boy!". Instead of making her feel dumb, I just said "thanks", and vowed that we won't go ANYWHERE in the future without a bow. I'm sure you other moms can feel my pain.

I have been making bows since before I had Maddie, and sell them as part of a little side business. I have to thank Lindsay for getting me started on them, it's one of my favorite hobbies!

Meet Billy

What a handsome devil! This is Shannon's boyfriend Billy Gahan. They have been dating for about 8 months now, and are so cute together! He goes to Weber State, and works at Big O Tires. Billy LOVES cars, especially the tricked out ones, like in the Fast and Furious movies. Billy is really fun to hang out with, and is becoming quite a good badmitton player (which is a requirement in the Jensen household).

We took Maddie in for a check-up this month, and here are her new stats:

Weight: 19lbs.

Length: 27 1/2 inches

Dr.Campbell, her Pediatrician, said,"It's funny that I was concerned with her weight gain in the beginning!" Maddie is in the 101 percentile for both her weight, and height! We are so proud of our little monkey. Rice is a part of her diet now, and let me tell you, it's quite a site to see her eat that!

Happy Birthday to me!

This year for my birthday, we went up to Park City, with Claudia and Kevin. I LOVE it up there! It was the perfect temp, and we ate at the so good restaurant, Baja Cantina. Afterwards, we went over to the outlets to do a little shopping. Maddie stayed at home with my parents, so it was a nice little break. Maybe if we win the lottery, we will move up there one day!

Go Denver!

As I'm sure you all know, Matt is obsessed with the Broncos, and I guess its rubbing off on Maddie.
Matt is so proud of her in this get-up.She is getting ready to watch the first pre-season game. She looks as as excited as me!

Moving around

Our big news for this month is that Madelyn can roll over now! I just came in to the living room one day to find her face down in the rug. She gets so proud of herself when she does it, and starts looking around to see our reactions. Now we have to be extra careful when she is on the bed!

Hilarious!

Last week, me and my mom went to see Frank Caliendo at the Ogden Amphitheater. He's a comedian who has his own TV show on TBS, has been on Jay Leno, and does lots of impressions. My favorite one was of George Bush....it was hysterical! Some of the other voices he does are: John Madden, Robert DeNero, and Dr. Phil. We laughed so hard, and it was something different to do for the summer! Go OGDEN!

And they lived happily ever after

Well, it's been two years since Matt and I tied the knot. So much has happened since then, it's hard to believe. I'm so blessed to have Matt as my husband. He is the sweetest, most patient man that I know, and I love him so much. Not to mention, he is the best dad to Maddie. Marriage is hard work, but most definitely worth the work.

This year we went to dinner at MacCool's, which is an Irish pub in Layton. The food was very good, and so were the drinks! Here's to another year of happiness.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

So, the Jensen family is obsessed with badminton. This Saturday we had a BBQ, and played a tournament afterwards. We all bring our "A" game, and it gets pretty competitive! Shannon's cute boyfriend Billy is the newest addition to our team, so we had to break him in. Mom sat on the sidelines with Mads, and they were our cheerleaders. Summer is the best!

Hooray for Grandmas!!

Grandmas hold our tiny hands for just a little while, but our hearts forever. ~Author Unknown

Madelyn is so lucky to have such wonderful grandmas! They spoil her to death, and we are never at a shortage for babysitters.
